When Mary Mercado told the assistant news director she was leaving the news department to work on a nationally syndicated TV program her boss said, "How does it feel when reality actually exceeds your dreams?".

If you ask Mary, she will tell you, "It has been BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!".

 

Fifteen years ago Mary was a stay-at-home mother of five. On the side, she wrote marketing, advertising and public relations copy for a few clients and was a regular contributor for a couple of newspapers. Once her children were all in school full time she wrote a "crazy" letter to the news director of the local ABC affiliate, WXYZ (Detroit) 

-- and he was intrigued.

 

That letter helped Mary land a part-time job as a newswriter. Soon she was asked to field produce important live interviews.  Then she was entrusted with some of the station's highest-profile projects including town hall specials, political debates, business programs, live community event and sports' specials, sales generated programs and writing and producing hundreds of commercials.

 

 Mary was thrilled when Scripps Networks asked her to become a segment producer for the nationally syndicated Rebecca's Garden (NBC/Universal). She eventually took over as the lead producer of the HGTV version of the show.

 

A move to San Antonio led Mary to KSAT (ABC) where she helped launch  SA Live, San Antonio's #1 afternoon variety/talk show. She was quickly immersed in the community by also producing all three Fiesta parades and the 2014 Spurs Championship Celebration.

 

ABC/Good Morning America/World News Tonight came calling and offered Mary an opportunity to produce stories as needed here in South Texas. The rest of time she is here for you!
